Welcome to the website of the North Carolina Mountain Central Office of Alcoholics Anonymous.<\/strong> NCMCO has served A.A. groups in North Carolina\/Area 51 Districts 70, 71, 80, and the Rutherford County portion of District 15 — which comprise much of the western portion of the state — for over 50 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The office is funded and staffed entirely by local members of Alcoholics Anonymous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Service With Central Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Central Office, by A.A. tradition, exists primarily as a service organization and is often the first point of contact for many who believe they may have a drinking problem. If you’re interested in volunteering, check our the service opportunities page<\/a> or attend one of our bi-monthly General Committee meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Board Positions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In January, Central Office will be electing all non-appointed positions (Chair, Alt-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, 12th Step Volunteer Coordinator) at General Committee meeting. For descriptions of positions, see the NCMCO bylaws<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right now, NCMCO is in need of volunteers to fill two Board positions: 12th Step Call Coordinator and Webmaster. See our Open Board Positions<\/a> page for the responsibilities and requirements for these positions. If you are interested, please attend the next General Committee meeting, September 10, 2026, at 6:00 pm<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FInancial Contributions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Group and individual contributions help pay for rent, phone and internet, office supplies, stamps and postage, and payroll for the office manager.
